Diets Don’t Work
As you’ve probably found out by now, diets just don’t work. Sadly this has been proven time and time again by numerous weight loss studies. Statistically dieters lose up to 10% of their body weight but in most cases they put the weight (and more) on again within 6 months.
You might be able to lose weight and keep it off for a while if you’re really motivated, but inevitably all diets fail because they’re too strict, restrict your favourite foods and leave you feeling constantly hungry, tired and moody.
Most diets also lead to binge eating and even worse, they can lead to obsession with food (food OCD) which can take years to get rid of.
This can especially happen to women who have a history of trying fad diets, crash diets and restrictive eating in the past. Most dieters end up heavier than when they started and the experience of dieting leaves them scarred for life and unmotivated to lose weight or even think of dieting ever again.
Intermittent fasting is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. It can also help to manage ‘food OCD’ and to keep your weight stable.
Once you get used to it, intermittent fasting can be an easy lifestyle choice that you can keep up for life.
When we diet we usually aim for a goal weight and then revert back to our old ways as soon as we’ve reached the goal weight, because the diet is just not sustainable.
By the time you’ve reached your goal you’ll be sick and tired of limiting your food and will be craving all the foods that you’ve banned from your diet.
With intermittent fasting there’s no ‘end point’ to hang out for. It’s meant to be that easy that you can keep doing it without disrupting your life.
So get rid of the idea of dieting for good because you’ll won’t need to anymore. If you do it right, intermittent fasting will give you complete freedom from dieting!
